Decisons...

I have decided that I am not going to carry on with this brief, I did do a lot of design development but I didn't really see myself going anywhere with it and I didn't think it would benefit my portfolio in the long run so I have decided to put this brief to bed and leave it. I have left it up so that you can see the ideas that I did develop but after much thought I decided to not waste anymore time with it.

idea generation..

This is a quick idea that I thought would attract a lot of attention, it would be an installment placed maybe in a shopping centre, maybe attached to a wall or any where where a large scale construction could be placed. It is almost like a water fountain but instead of water being used it is paint splattering onto the car. I thought it would be quite cool to distribute a load of air fresheners... involvement of experimental type!

I quite like this idea in particular...the idea that you can make your mini your own piece of art work. The concept is related to Jackson Pollock but i think that although i know who he is many people wont and in that case wont understand the meaning behind it.

I also thought about maybe creating a 3D version of an air freshener but this would make it quite hard to distribute although it makes the idea more interactive.

This idea below is just a different angle in which I could display the air freshener...

New template...

This is a new template that i have created, I thought i could use this for people to design their own customized MINIs! The right being the design that would be placed on the roof of the mini and then the left being how the design would actually look in context on the roof of the mini...

New idea...

This example above is slightly more fun, I have changed the slogan and added the essential information that was in the guidlines. I still think a background colour of some sort is needed.
Here is just another example although I have changed the layout slightly to make it read better and I have adjusted the heirarchy of information.

When sketching ideas I came up with this idea... associating painting with customising. I think it is appropriate for my target audience and is fun and quirky. I could maybe try different background colours to help emphasis the illustration. 'Make it your work of art' i think works but I am thinking i need to think of something a bit more cool and suiting to my target audience!

Initial ideas...

Using my coloured template i created this in illustrator, a simple pattern emphasising the variations that are available. I think that some sort of type is need to emphasis my point as the logo is not enough to communicate message effectively.
Taking away black outline looks quite effective, i could maybe try adding shadowing to add depth...
Initial placing of colour, keeping it simple and colour palette limited like website...
Adding different strokes to the lines to add depth and more interest...
